What Is an Apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a real job where you learn, gain experience and get paid. You’re an employee with a contract of employment and holiday leave. By the end of an apprenticeship, you'll have the right skills and knowledge needed for your chosen career.

Our Apprenticeships are delivered through a ‘blended learning’ approach. This means you benefit from a mix of online, face to face, remote or classroom based sessions. Ensuring you can easily manage your career alongside you other day to day commitments.

Levels Of an Apprenticeship

Each apprenticeship has a level and an equivalent education level. You can start an apprenticeship at any level.

Intermediate Apprenticeships

Intermediate Apprentices work towards a qualification at Level 2 (equivalent to 4 GCSEs). Many include a technical certificate, a qualification that assesses your work-related knowledge and understanding.

Advanced Apprenticeships

As an Advanced Apprentice, you can aim for a supervisory, technical or management role. Advanced Apprentices work towards a qualification at Level 3 (equivalent to 2 A Levels). People with an Advanced Level Apprenticeship earn on average over £100,000 more over the course of their career, all without the costs associated with getting a traditional Degree.

Higher Apprenticeships

Higher Apprenticeships work towards work-based learning qualifications such as Level 4 or 5. These can be equivalent to a Foundation Degree.

Apprenticeships aren't just for young people. Each year hundreds of thousands on adults gain the skills and qualifications they need to progress and increasing their earning power.

Acquiring new skills and qualifications is a great way to advance your career, but there are also financial benefits. A future with a larger income is in our hands if we invest time in learning.

There are no tuition costs or student loan fees, regardless of your age or circumstances.

As an Adult Apprentice you will gain new job related skills as well as undertake specific flexible training and study sessions, to increase your occupational knowledge.
